Lagos issues ₦2bn retirement bond certificate to pensioners

The Lagos State Government has disbursed ₦2.02 billion in retirement benefits to 644 pensioners. This announcement was made by Mr. Babalola Obilana, the Director-General of the Lagos State Pension Commission, during the 101st batch Retirement Bond Certificate presentation for retirees in Lagos State.

Mr. Obilana emphasized the government’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding those who have served the state. The payment of ₦2.02 billion represents the past service benefits of retirees before the introduction of the Contributory Pension Scheme in 2007.
