Following the Guidelines for the Micro Pension Plan (MPP) publication, the National Pension Commission (the Commission) identified the need for sustained public education to raise awareness and acceptability of the MPP as a critical success factor.
The Micro Pension Plan (MPP) was introduced to cover the informal sector, which basically comprises self-employed individuals and SMEs.
In 2018, the National Pension Commission (PenCom) issued Guidelines for Micro Pension Plan, which gives detailed directions on how the categories of workers mentioned above will participate in the CPS. The MPP is now being implemented nationwide.
This Framework lays out the procedures for the Commission and Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) to follow to ensure the MPP’s effective and long-term enlightenment and public awareness drive.
