Military pensioners have asked the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) to look into the Military Pension Board’s alleged improper deductions from their monthly payments (MPB).

They also sought an urgent investigation into the MPB’s unjustified delay in paying their 24-month pension backlog. The MPB is statutorily responsible for managing their affairs.

Capt. Yusuf Abdulmalik (rtd. ), spokesman for the Retired Army, Navy, and Air Force Officers Association (RANAO), talked to journalists in Kano yesterday, lamenting that the indiscriminate shortchange had put an unnecessary psychological burden on retired officers.

Despite the fact that the Federal government approved the Consequential Adjustment of the Gross Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure for military retirees in April 2019, the implementation did not begin until May 2021, leaving a gap of 24 months.
