Jigawa governor sacks pension boss

On Wednesday, Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badaru fired Hashimu Fagam, the Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme Board.

The governor also authorized Kamilu Musa’s appointment as the board’s acting Executive Secretary. Mr Fagam was fired for no apparent reason, according to the governor.

Mr Fagam’s dismissal was announced by the governor in a statement signed by Hussaini Kila, the State Head of the Civil Service.

Mr Musa, a professional accountant, will take over as acting executive secretary, according to the statement.

“The new Executive Secretary was appointed solely on the basis of talent, competence, and personal integrity.

“The new Executive Secretary’s appointment is based solely on merit, competency, and personal integrity, and it takes effect immediately,” the statement stated.
